Well, I don't know about the calendar syncing, but the best Verizon feature phone is the LG enV3.
Unfortunately there does not seem to be a good way to sync most LG phones with a mac computer. The only thing I have come across is Bit Pim and its reviews are pretty spotty.

you could also use adiumx as your chat program if you don't already. there is a script you can download to control hidden dock prefs, etc, that would let you turn that on and off.

Yea I heard Charlotte Target only had 5 too and yea I got the 32gb white like I wanted. They came out and passed out tickets at 4:30 but there were still a lot of people waiting in line without a ticket. I'm sure there were a lot of angry people. The line was wrapped around the building I'm glad I came when I did because it started to pick up around 3:30. But Launch day is over not so I'm hoping cases start coming out on Amazin because I refused to buy one in the store.

are you on 4.3? netfilx released an update for 4.3 today, might be the problem
I'm JB on 4.2.1. Display out works fine with the HDMI adapter. Netflix is the only app that has problems.

Thanks for that. Yes it's going to be my first SLR. Parents are willing to stretch to whatever as I never ask for much usually anyways and I'm the kind of person who would prefer to save the money and buy things myself etc.
I know about Tamron and Sigma lens too, I've been looking at those as well. I wasn't sure if 18-55 would be enough and that I might need a new lens in the near future. I forgot to mention, I'm also going on Holiday visiting Hong Kong, China area and before going I'll be playing around with the camera to make sure by the time I go on holiday I'll get the best shots etc.

When I first started out with my Sony, I used it to make smart albums based on a few focal lengths and decide what I wanted to have better, After my niece was born, it was clear that the lens I needed was a 50mm with a big aperture... It is also a lot more useful than those few things - along with Lightroom (just Lightroom is 3 or 4 times the price).
I really like using the far end of my 55-200 in street photography, something I'll be doing a lot more of when I move to NY, as it has a nice reach on it for getting fairly candid photos of people. My 50mm lens is great for getting portraits and is awesome in low light.
You sound like you have your head screwed on in terms of your parents, that's how I was. :)

Wow! Just wow. First, your movie editor cannot change your source footage. Second, DV is Digital Video. If you have analog video, then it impossible for it to be DV.
If my source is VHS then its analogue.
If iMovie is software running on a computer an the data format iMovie saves in is DV, then it is DV, isn't it?
And to the point of changing picture quality I ment: if the software got better over the year it may handle recording the source in a different way (e.g. filtering noise while recording, bettering line time base...).
I know there is software that does things one does not know of without asking, for example EyeTV records in mpeg2 and calculates which of the frames it can omit, because it is the same as the frame before.
Maybe iMovie does things I do not know of and it does it different in Version 3 than in Version 5. There is always a race for the latest and greatest, but I think systems have become so powerful that anything bought in the past year or so will now be viable for many years to come. Kind of like cars...... dramatic changes in the first 30-40 years........ but progress kind of leveled off after that....... or at least slowed to a point where a 20-30 year old vehicle could still operate on a highway without a problem......sort of like my mint 1980 Jeep CJ7:cool:

My 400mhz iMac DV runs Photoshop pretty damn well, sure it doesn't launch in .00003 seconds, but I can hanle the .5 second delay...... Even if you know you want a previous gen, you don't want to buy right before a keynote because prices will usually drop if a new rev comes out.
Actually, the prices on refurbs don't usually drop until refurbs of a new rev come out, maybe 2 to 3 months after initial release (although i haven't seen any refurb ipod touches, and believe me, i've been looking).

I just went to put another cd in and it wont take the cd at all.... It seems to reset itself when I restart though, but then only works once before it stops working...

My mom found that picture and sent it to me and laughed at me. Gotta love it.

but i will say... it did work as advertised. Made the picture seem much larger than it was. If you can get over the stigma, it is a great concept. And remember it won't be quite as gnarly when they have it ready for mass production.

I am currently using a white Macbook (2.0 GHz / 3GB / GMA 950) from 5 years ago and it is performing admirably for most daily tasks; the only that stretches it a bit is my RAW photo editing on Lightroom 3. I process photos from my Canon EOS 60D, so we're looking at ~20MB images.
I'm thinking about getting a new machine and am considering the following. Note that I'm not concerned about the hard drive capacity, since I use external drives extensively anyway.

13" / 2.7 GHz / 4 GB 1333MHz / Intel HD Graphics 3000
