I disagree. I think that we will see an another attempt at CIR bill. Dems will want to capitalize on their surge among the hispanic bloc; see the comments by Nancy Palosi [sp?]. An attempt will be made to cast it as an aid for economy: to bring people out of shadows so that they can buy houses etc.
But then this is just my opinion which, like yours, is just an opinion. Heck even my 5 year old these days does not seem to hold my opinion in any regard :)

Is this movie advocating something? Like a bill or provision? Just saying here are a bunch of immigrants with their stories does not do any good. There are many immigrant stories in media already. What special are you bringing to the table?
Does the movie tells people to go to Immigrationvoice and support immigrants? So what is your message? How exactly you want immigrants to support Immigrantion voice? You are only posting a link to your film everywhere. Not even once on other sites you are asking people to support Immigrationvoice. The film also does not say about Immigrationvoice.
If you say that you are trying to raise awareness in Americans, then how about asking Americans to listen to Immigration voice and support IV. Have you said that. You have just shown pretty picture and a fancy music and trying to sell your movie.
What is the script of the movie? Has it been approved by IV? If it is not approved by IV, why are you using IV for your movie's publicity.
How is this movie going to help Immigrants? Will you be donating all money made by publicity and selling of movie to IV?

You ask your Ex-coworker to draft a letter with detailed duties and responsibilities and print it on his current companies letterhead. You dont have to get it notarized. I did issue a similar letter for one of my friend, it was long long ago, don't have the format yet. btw, i did not notarized, I just printed, signed and mailed.

New employer says that i can't work for him till I94 accepts. So he is suggesting me togo India and get Visa stamped.
Your employer is right. You will new H-1B visa stamp and re-entry into USA to get back H-1B status.
As i can work only 240 days from my I94 expiry date, i can't work after July 2010 so am planning to go to India to attend the embassy as soon as possible.

I seriously think IV should take specific instances of past delays due to FBI checks and USCIS delays and highlight these.. A letter campaign supporting Mayorkas should be sent to senatiors.
Letter must specifically highlight how Grassley's allegations are unfounded (based on his history) and how Mayorkas has increased transparency within USCIS and helped legitimate aliens get their immigration benefits in a timely fashion instead of perpetuating bureaucratic delays

Full credits belong to CagedCactus who took the initiative to call the meet, chose the venue and time, brought snacks and coffee to the meet. And also to Bestin who drove all the way from Lansing to be with us.
It was nice to touch-base with some of the DC rally veterans and share our experience. And also to discover some neighbors :)
State chapter meets are a nice opportunity to meet people and build your network - which may prove very useful to you in the future. People who skip the meets don't know what they're missing.

I have followed what many people suggested and applied for the H1B renewal.
Now I have to travel to India in the last week of November. I have a valid EAD and AP document. My H1B will be expiring and the renewal will be filed but I wont be receiving the approval.
I can use the AP and renter U.S but will that result in a cancellation of my H1B renewal?

I just created a search engine (http://immisearch.blogspot.com/) to help all people looking for a better way to search topics around immigration related activites. The search engine came as a result of my countless hours that I spent searching to answers around the web.
Try searching for any information with h1b, h4, Green Card, I-485, I140, citizenship etc, and the engine should give you a better result.
Leave a comment at the blog and let me know what else could be improved.

how about applying for a tourist visa for that time period?
Can we apply for tourist visa from US?
I checked at NY Kaplan. they have 3months course for $1800 and 4months course for TOEFL for $5500. Since we need atleast 4 months I20, I guess I have to check some community college if they offer something cheap.
One more question is, the community college usally have admission from spring. They don't issue I20 in summer. So I guess I have to start from January itself. In that case is it possible to get admission in January and start the class in summer? In that way I can save some money.
