Hi all,
I am on H4 for the past few years. This year I am planning to switch to H1. A consulting firm of only 5 employees is willing to sponsor my H1. I would like to know the chances of my H1 getting approved. Because the company is small am I going to face any problems? What will be the impact of the size of the company on H1 approvals.
I would really appreciate your inputs because this time I want to resume my career again and I don't want to have any problems with H1.

Doesn't the date fall on a Sunday? It is probably a system update: I belive that similar things have happened to others. Don't worry and enjoy your weekend.

I was checking online status and for my I-140, last updated date shows January 06, 2008. (My EB2 PD is OCT 2006). Can any one explain why the I-140 showing update date of 01/06/2008. The online status says following text :

Its more like paranoid journalism and the author's background states she has a degree in investigative journalism:mad:
I don't get it - how can USCIS take a sample of 250 people out of the 65000 visas alotted and say that 21 % of them were fraud ( 13% totally and 8 % technically ) . Its like taking only the fraud cases out of thousands and then saying that there is 100% fraud. I bet the fraud cases are not as high as 20% that the author and USCIS say.
It is sad to see that although we H1b immigrants get paid more than the American people ( considering what the employer gets from the client ) and even then we have to hear that we are lowly paid. Speaking from my point of view I know I am paid far more than my american counterparts in the same job profile.

Hi, guys,
I'm having a little trouble with counting the years of experience for my EB2 petition. My attorney said I can only count the number of years I worked before joining the current sponsoring company!! The situation is, I jointed this company in Jan 2004. But my petition (Labor) appliction only started at the end of 2006. My attorney says that the three years of working experience (04, 05 & 06) can not be counted!
Is he correct on this?

We had a 8 hr long meeting with a lobbying firm right on the Capitol hill. The meeting progressed very well. We came out with a wealth of information. This firm seems to have the right contacts and connections. I am creating a pointwise document the people in this firm promised and were confident to achieve. Just to let you know we have Labor Backlog centers and Retrogression on our agenda.

Could you change the flashplayer to something else that has forward/rewind controls. I closed the website a few times accidentally and I had to start all over again as this has no forward buttons.
Secondly, does anyone have access to AILA ? There is a mention of procedures to correct improper rejections by the service centers for cases with incorrect date stamps, lost checks or documents due to the errors on part of service center. I am badly in need of these procedures because I need to know what actions my attorney can take to fix my rejection issue. And I am sure there are many more in the same boat looking for this information.

A thought about meeting the Senators/Congressmen.
Should we not meet the new senators and congressmen now, BEFORE they actually join office? I have a feeling that once they take office, they will become too busy with day to day stuff and immigration will DEFINITELY become a back-burner issue.
Is it possible to meet the new people moving in after January, now instead of after they take office?

If you go to the first post in this thread, click on p_t_smiles, you get a menu that says, among other things, "Find all posts by p_t_smiles". When you select that option, you'll find a few posts. Just look through those threads, and you'll get some ideas.
