I am a July 2 filer. I got 485 receipt notice from California Service Center with receipt date of july 2. Today, in mail, I got another notice called transfer notice, which states that my case has been transferred to Nebraska. The receipt date on the transfer notice is Sep 5. Is it nromal to have such diferent receipt dates? Will USCIS process by receipt date on receipt notice or on transfer notice?

It's photoshop magic. Just create a 22.5 degree slice, dup it to 2 and position, dup that to 4 and position, dup that to 8 and position, crop to a circle and voila, kaleidoscope. It really was derived from Fretnomore's posted shot.

Hello All,

Contrary to popular opinion and the view of many politicians, the "brain drain" issue on Wall Street is real, says Dave Kansas, author of "The End of Wall Street as We Know It."
Kansas, a Wall Street Journal contributing editor, notes the concurrent trends of foreign-born workers returning to their home countries and Wall Street's homegrown "risk-takers" joining smaller firms or opening their own boutiques.
In other words, when CEOs like Morgan Stanley's John Mack and Citigroup's Vikram Pandit complain about the risk of losing the "best and brightest" if the government imposes onerous restrictions on compensation, there's validity to their claims, Kansas says.
These trends - compensation restrictions, the rise of boutique firms, more competition from international competitors and big shops becoming more risk-averse - come in the wake of a largely self-made cataclysm that hit Wall Street in the past 18 months.
And Kansas notes it's "early innings" in terms of both the industry's transformation and the new regulatory environment that's certain to come down the D.C. beltwa

MY QUESTION TO YOU ALL
Do you think the govt will do something soon about this? Can we expect a merit based point system in the new CIR? Does anyone has information on merit system in new CIR?
Please advise.
Thank you

I see a lot of people flocking into "Orkut". How about incorporating a dose of IV through orkut if some of us are already there? What is more important is, making people aware of the consequences they might have to face, even if they havent filed for their GC yet.
That's a nice idea. Who has orkut membership ?
What about sending one more Fax to congressmen and senators ?

I trust IV core members 99% for their efforts. But the remaining 1% does not come from the fear that IV is corrupt financially. It comes from the lack of information. If IV does not let the members know about their plans, how many members do the core expect to trust them and make an almost blind contribution? I suggest that members who want to contribute do the following.
1. pick up your phone and get ready to contribute.
2. call IV and during the call, contribute.
3. verify with IV that you are not a spy by giving your detailed information.
4. IV email you or mail you the ongoing plan.
:)
:)
As for the state chapter, I don't think IV should push for it in the near future. It will take a long time to build the grassroots. It won't be done in this year, in my opinion.

I am in the same boat.
I applied I-140 in premium processing(Labor applied Apr 2004, Approved Jan 2007). Got RFE to show 5 yrs of exp. My Lawyer replied to RFE on 26th July and USCIS received the documents on 30th of July 2007.
The problem is that USCIS site is showing that they will take upto 60 days to reply. Though I have applied in Premium processing but I guess they answer queries in normal time.
There is a 50-50 chance of getting my RFE cleared. Please suggest:
1. Can I file I-485 before 17th Aug ?
2. If I can, do I have to pay old Fees ?
3. Can I file without medical ?
Please guide ?
Thanks

Its just like how introducing the PERM system sped up labor certification, but increased retrogression several times. Guess we have to learn from that. FBI name checks are already taking 2+ years, you can imagine what will happen if all the retrogressed PDs become current overnight.

My case was also transferred to CSC. The transfer notice has a different receipt date than the receipt notice. MY case is now transferred back to NSC.
I would like to know if anybody of you have received finger print notice. I have not received it yet.
No FP, or any other communication whatsoever. Just the transfer notice.
